Angry Wife Assaults Bank Employee

RIYADH, 22 September 2004 — Bank customers were taken by surprise when an angry wife stormed into a bank east of Riyadh and attacked a female bank employee who was quietly doing her work, Al-Watan newspaper reported. Her colleagues saved her from the irate wife and both were later handed over to police. Investigations revealed that the furious wife attacked the bank employee because she was going to be the second wife for her husband. Her husband had asked her to be his wife a week before the incident. The first wife, who did not want to be upstaged, took matters into her own hands as soon as she found out the identity of the future wife and attacked her to pre-empt the second marriage.
