YANBU, 30 September 2004 — The Yanbu Cricket League (YCL) are conducting two Intercity matches here against JCL selections. The Arab News Under 17- intercity match, a day/night affair, will be played today while a JCL selection will meet YCL XI tomorrow.
The first day/night clash will see the use of white balls and black sightscreens. YCL has come a long way from the two grounds it had in 1978 and today boasts of best facilities available in the Kingdom.
The ground has been upgraded and is connected by a direct road from the Highway. A new air conditioned commentary box, and the Air Conditioned VIP Pavilion have been modified recently. YCL President Abdul Jabbar and his team thank the Social Services, Royal Commission and Al Yasrah Est for there efforts in assisting YCL. The35-over-per-side match is sponsored by Lubrizol thanks to Farid Zaki. YCL also extended their thanks to Nayeem Rais of Aramco, A. Khan of Zomco, and other members who contributed to YCL.
