Soha Ashi is a new young Saudi designer specializing in the abaya. The abaya is part a woman’s identity and the varying styles reflect the woman’s personality.
“What makes my abayas different is that I combine the past and the present in the designs,” she said. She has been designing abayas for three years; they are sold through her father’s textile shop in Mujama Al-Sharq, Jeddah. Growing up with fabrics and textiles surrounding her, she understands them and gets her inspirations from them. The prices for her designs begin at SR500. The price depends largely upon the fabric and the design.
