Support for Children With Down Syndrome

RIYADH, 3 November 2004 — On behalf of Princess Al-Jawhara Al-Ibrahim, the wife of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd, Princess Maha Al-Ibrahim, the wife of Prince Abdur Rahman, deputy minister of defense and aviation, honored the charitable sahoor of the Down Syndrome Charitable Association here recently.

Princess Sarah bint Talal, the chairperson of DSCA board, said: “It is due to your generous spirit that this evening can take place, and the generous spirit of our society that allows Down Syndrome Charitable Association to survive to promote the health, well-being and education of families we try to support.

“DSCA has been growing since 1998. We have grown from an office in Riyadh to a big center. We are now working at the Khobar project with the support and association of Dalal Ba Hussain, a member of the DSCA.”

Princess Sara explained how DSCA’s reach-out centers work and operate. “The projects train mothers and fathers on how to deal with children with Down Syndrome,” she said.
