Hong Kong Firms Seek Mideast Business

DUBAI, 13 December 2004 — Hong Kong’s largest ever trade fair in the Middle East opened in Dubai yesterday with the participation of more than 200 firms, organizers said. The five-day exhibit, dubbed “Hong Kong in Style,” features a broad range of products covering electronics, jewelry, toys and games, watches and clocks and garments, they said. “This is a groundbreaking event for us. It is ... a clear indication of the importance Hong Kong companies attribute to doing business in the region,” said Fred Lam, executive director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council organizing the fair.
