Pakistan IT Firms Upbeat About Business

ALKHOBAR, 16 December 2004 — Dr. Khurshid Nizam, president of E-Commerce Gateway, an event management company, hosted a dinner at Marhaba Restaurant. Dr. Nizam is a delegate from ITCN (Information Technology, Commerce Network) which is currently holding an exhibition at the Dhahran International Exhibition Center.

Members of 15 Pakistani IT companies are participating in the exhibition; a number of Saudi businessmen also attended. “We are very impressed with Pakistan’s capabilities in IT and have been pleasantly surprised at what they have to offer,” a Saudi businessman said.

Dr. Nizam said he was very pleased with the Saudi response to Pakistani IT companies. “Every company that participated in the exhibition has gotten business. We will continue coming here and, in fact, we are booked until 2007 which is an indication of the success and acceptance of Pakistani companies.”

Waqar Butt, director of international marketing in the Ministry of IT, Pakistan, urged Pakistanis in the Kingdom to support Pakistani companies.
