Philips

Philips has announced that it has finished fitting out a multipurpose gym at the Prince Sultan ibn Abdulaziz Center for Handicapped Children in Makkah and a children’s playroom at the Handicapped Children’s association in Jeddah. Philips provided the gym, which also includes a stage, with all the necessary equipment for performances and ports activities, including an integrated Philips sound system, a huge display screen and equipment for showing videos and DVDs. At the Jeddah association, Philips installed appropriate flooring and provided furniture, toys, games and equipment for playing and watching videos. “We would like to thank Philips for its close cooperation with us to help these handicapped children. Its activities are in line with the directives and devoted efforts of Prince Sultan ibn Salman, chairman of the Handicapped Children’s Association (HCA), both to ensure that the association has all the support it needs to pursue its activities and focus attention on the companies that work to support the association in a committed, effective way,” Talal ibn Ali Kamakhi, director of the Prince Sultan ibn Abdulaziz Center, said.

Al Zouman/Swatch

Al Zouman General Trading launched Swatch’s fashion spring summer 2005 collection at a dealers’ convention at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Jeddah on Sunday. “It’s here — a color-splashed collection of bright, light-hearted ornaments, glittering accessories of glamour on display,” Omar Al Saggaf of Al Zouman General Trading said. The collection is a mix of traditional and new pieces. They come in classic plastic, colored enamels, steel, leather and synthetic textured fabrics. They meet in a flush of natural and high-tech hues. They are luxuriant shades of the jungle at sunrise, brilliant greens and pinks, crimson, black and orange. “You can feel the excitement building in anticipation of the hunt. And there they go, they’re off and running - mannequins on the prowl. They’re chasing down the next attraction. A souvenir from Swatch, from the collection,” he said in a presentation. The collection includes Amazon Sunrise — a jungle book filled with imaginary creatures.
