MADINAH, 16 March 2005 — A young man wanting a sparkling set of white teeth used a novel way of polishing it. Only he failed to brush up on the safety aspects of his act. Suffering from yellow teeth, he took his friend’s advice to make it white. And what he got was a chemical solution instead of toothpaste. On using the solution, he found out that he had bitten off more than he could chew. He had to be transported to the hospital with blisters and ulceration in his mouth, the Arabic daily Madinah reported. Doctors were surprised to learn that the man had brushed his teeth with a chemical, which also burned his tongue. And during treatment the doctors learned the brand of the novel ‘tooth cream’ was a solution that is used to polish the ceramic floor white.
