MAKKAH, 24 March 2005 — An appeals and complaints committee for elections has been formed on the orders of Prince Miteb, minister of rural and municipal affairs, said Dr. Khaled Nahhas, mayor of Makkah and head of the municipal elections in Makkah.
The committee, composed of Ahmad Hassan Al-Hassani, Abdul Muhsin Al-Alshaik, Ali Al-Matrafi and Abdullah Al-Sonusi, will have its office at the Makkah Municipality building.
Voters in the Western Region cities as well as the north will cast their ballots on April 21 in the third round of the nationwid polls to elect half the members of 178 municipal councils in the country. The capital Riyadh and neighboring regions voted in the first phase on Feb. 10. Voting in the Eastern Province and the southwest was on March 3.
