JEDDAH, 5 April 2005 — Preparations are in full swing for the first international convention of Haj and Umrah services scheduled at Jeddah Hilton from April 16-19.
The convention, being held under the direction of Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed, has the support of the Ministry of Haj, National Haj & Umrah Committee, Supreme Commission for Tourism, and Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The event will be the first of its kind, according to Dr. Ghassan Sulaiman who heads the JCCI. “Additionally, it will be a unique gathering of Haj and Umrah service providers, as also those offering support services,” he said.
Dr. Abdulkader Tungkul, consultant with the Ministry of Information, said the ministry would help develop the services for Haj and Umrah both within and outside the Kingdom. Specialists will address various sessions at the convention, which will have the participation of a large number of companies dealing in Haj and Umrah services.
The event aims to simplify the flow of business and bring all Haj and Umrah service providers as well as related industries under one roof for enhanced quality and effectiveness.
Road shows have been held in various countries to promote the event.
