DHAKA, 14 April 2005 — Rescuers have so far recovered 28 bodies from the rubbles of a garment factory which collapsed on Monday. Hopes faded yesterday for more than 100 people feared trapped in the collapsed factory as rescuers raced against the clock to reach anyone still alive in the rubble. Meanwhile, the collapse of the factory has reawakened fears of what would occur if an earthquake struck Bangladesh. Experts fear this disaster could be repeated on a massive scale, saying a major earthquake could destroy thousands of buildings in Dhaka, and other cities.
