JEDDAH, 16 May 2005 — The first shop for jewelry for babies and children in the Middle East has opened in Jeddah’s Al-Basateen Center in Tahlia Street. The shop, Baby Fitaihi, is owned by Mohammed Ahmed Fitaihi. Two more Baby Fitaihi shops are planned for Jeddah next year as well as shops in Riyadh, Alkhobar, Dubai and Cairo. The idea for the shop came to Maali Khashoggi, who is the general manager, after the birth of her daughter. “I realized that there was no shop specializing in jewelry for infants and children in the Middle East. I thought of designing for them and have produced items ranging in price from SR200 to SR2000.”
