MANILA — The Filipino Channel (TFC) will be launching today a new TV program dedicated to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families. The program dubbed “Kuwentong Disyerto,” which will be aired from 9 a.m. every Friday, is a one-hour magazine show to be hosted by Connie Sison and TJ Manotoc.
The program will have the following segments:
• ME Happenings, a four (4) 1-minute segments with TJ Manotoc announcing the events and happenings that Pinoys in the region can attend and are busy with.
• Mga Tinig sa Disyerto, a viewer’s feedback of the week. — Business as Usual, (formerly Negosyong OFW of BME), featuring different worthwhile businesses where OFWs can invest their hard-earned money; practical tips on how to start a business; how to sustain it and how to make it successful.
• OFW Helpline, a helpdesk Q&A segment where an invited studio guest will answer OFW concerns on benefits, welfare, labor and the like.
• Bayanihan sa Middle East, featuring the exemplary camaraderie of Filipino organizations in the Middle East and how these groups positively affect the lives of their kababayans in the region.
• Kabayani (spin-off from BME), pays tribute to the so-called modern day heroes. Features the day to day victories and heroic deeds of the individuals in the region.
• D Pinoy Connection, a guide on everything OFWs in the Mideast need to know about staying and coming back to their homeland. Some of its features includes: Balikbayan Track (Developments in the different key cities/towns).
Buhay Balikbayan (A Day in the Life of a Subscriber); Pinoy Speak (Mga usong lingo); Balikbayan in the City (Tips); Tech Stuff (txtmate, included here); Pinoy at Heart (values); Pa-Taste (sharing ng mga kakaibang recipes ng mga OFWs sa Middle East).
• Kumustahan sa Gitnang Silangan (spin-off from BME), an interactive segment wherein a subscriber from the Mideast can talk and see on TV, real time, their loved ones in the Philippines.
Kwentong Disyerto is an addition to the popular programs Kumusta Kabayan and Balitang Middle East, in which the later will concentrate more on news coverages.
