JEDDAH, 7 June 2005 — Members of the Pakistani community should work for the welfare of their fellow countrymen in the Kingdom who need support, said Consul General of Pakistan Masood Akhtar speaking at a dinner organized by the Pakistan Logistic Forum (PLF) at Lasani Hall.
Masood also stressed on inter-community cooperation and said the improvement in India-Pakistan relations should also promote better understanding between Indian and Pakistani expatriates no matter wherever they live.
He praised PLF for fostering cooperation among Pakistanis involved in shipping and freight forwarding agencies.
Zafar Chowdhary, coordinator of the PLF, said the forum aims to develop coordination among Pakistanis working in shipping and freight forwarding agencies in Jeddah. It also seeks to promote relations between such people and organizations in Pakistan to enhance trade between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Later, a music program was arranged by Amir Mohammad Khan.
A lucky draw was also held. Shahid Bari won a return ticket.
Suhail Ali Khan, Shoukat Munir Kiyani and Hijab Gul of Consulate General of Pakistan were also present.
