LG electronics has introduced a mobile phone, which has a striking sports car shape and even makes car engine sounds when placing and receiving calls. “Its advanced features also guarantee the phone performs just as well as it looks,” LG Saudi Arabia General Manager C.K. Cho said in Jeddah on Tuesday. “We’ve taken the new mobile phone design to a new level,” he said announcing the commencement of a month long fun karting competition at Serafi Mega Mall where the Korean giant will award several phones. Making a first for mobile handsets in the Kingdom, the LG M4410 is aimed at the Kingdom’s burgeoning 15-24 year-old segment whose interest in motor racing is continually growing. It supports triband services - GSM, GPRS and EDGE, and has a built-in MP3, 1.3 mega pixel camera, blue tooth coverage of 50 m, external mini SD card with 64MB, and a 1,000-entry phone book. “The M4410 is LG’s first blue tooth-enabled handset in the Kingdom, which is also the first in the MEA region to market the new product. The local mobile market last year generated sales worth $10 million for the brand. “The sleek styling of the handset, which was a big hit at CeBIT 2005 in Germany earlier this year, is the product of LG’s in-house Milano Design Center,” Simon Kim, senior telecommunications manager at LG Saudi Arabia, said.
