As Universitas 21 Global, a worldwide premier online Graduate School, celebrates its second anniversary, it has announced that enrolment has doubled since last year with 1,000 students now registered. This growth rate is reflected across the Arab region where student intake has increased by over 100 percent in the past year, mirroring a growing trend by governments toward promoting online learning. Expanding on the significance of this achievement to Universitas 21 Global’s Dubai-based regional branch, Vikram Tah, director of recruitment, Universitas 21 Global, MEA, said: “There has been a palpable shift in the level of interest in eLearning in the region, and this is best reflected in the growing number of students, with over 130 students currently benefiting from the tremendous amount of flexibility that Universitas 21 Global’s online program provides. We’re committed to making a significant and ongoing contribution to the UAE’s knowledge-based economy, and are confident of making considerable progress in this direction by working closely with regional leaders like Dubai Knowledge Village and the Center of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT). With the added impetus that the government’s backing of online education provides and the migration to an e-government system, there is a corresponding increase in the credibility of online learning.”
