Casa Liceo, described as the largest department store in the Middle East and the largest of its kind in the world opened at Heraa Street in Jeddah amid a large gathering of officials, businessmen and company executives. The opening ceremony kicked off with a visual and interactive presentation detailing the concept and philosophy behind the department store, which took only 62 days to prepare. Moreover it gave information on the product it offers and its goals on the Saudi and regional markets. Casa Liceo CEO Samir Sunbol conducted Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry Chairman Dr. Ghassan Sulaiman and other guests on a tour of the store’s various departments that include apparel, accessories, home appliances, and cosmetics of more than 400 global brands selling at discounted prices ranging from 50 to 70 percent off under one roof. Other than the products, the department store offers services by having an in-house café (Casa Liceo Café) and playground area for children. “The launch of a truly unique concept of this magnitude represents the company’s commitment to satisfying the consumer demand for high quality international brands at unbeatable competitive prices in a modern shopping environment,” Sunbol told a press conference. He elaborated on the company’s plans for expansion beginning with 14 department stores in the region in addition to the company’s dedication to instilling modern marketing techniques and continuous investment in human resources via employment and training of Saudi nationals.
