HP has introduced the iPAQ hw6500 Mobile Messenger — a global communication device which integrates wireless voice, high-speed data networking and versatile GPS navigation technologies. The device is small and sleek, with a height of 118mm, weight of 71mm and depth of 18mm, weighing in at a total of 165 gms.
The iPAQ features a built-in keyboard and HP Photosmart camera. Equipped with GSM, GPRS and EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution) technologies, users can have faster and simpler access to high-quality voice and worldwide data services, as well as Internet-based content at greater download speeds.
The iPAQ runs on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition software, Phone Edition, which enables instant messaging, downloading of e-mails and browsing the web. Users who are familiar with Microsoft Exchange 2003 can take advantage of a solution that goes far beyond basic text-based e-mail messaging to allow full synchronization to their inbox, calendar and contacts. The iPAQ hw6500 Mobile Messenger is also the first personal digital assistant (PDA) with integrated GPS navigation and voice technology.
