JEDDAH, 5 November 2005 — The personality and talent search is on for young Filipino children in Jeddah.

A project of the Entertainment Production Specialists, the contest is open to all Filipino child presently residing and studying in Jeddah, aged 4 to 8 years old, cute, can perform in public, talented, and who can communicate in both English and Filipino (Tagalog).

Organizers said the contest aims “to discover and develop the personality and inner-talent of the young Filipino child....”

They hope to achieve that by facilitating proper interaction among contestants to help them build self-confidence and esteem, and through artistic and creative programs.

The contest would also be a good opportunity “to instill in the young mind the rich cultural heritage of their motherland” as contestants participant in cultural and art-related activities.

At the same time, the young participants would be able to help their less-fortunate compatriots in the Philippines. The project is in part a fund-raiser for the Adopt-a-School program being promoted by various overseas Filipino groups around the world.

Interested participants have to submit their entry form with a close-up photo (5 X 7), full body shot photo (5 X 8), certificate of parental consent, and certification from the school where the child is currently enrolled.

Valuable prizes await the winners. These include a round-trip-ticket Jeddah-Manila-Jeddah, cash prizes, educational gifts, trophies, and other gifts from sponsors and donors.
