RIYADH, 30 November 2005 — While the Kingdom seeks for viable ventures in Poland, Warsaw looks for trade cooperation with the Kingdom in the field of information technology, agriculture and automobile industry. This was revealed at the conclusion of Saudi-Polish Business Council meeting at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Sunday.
During the discussions, the Saudi side was led by Ibrahim Al-Magoushi, manager foreign relations, Saudi Council of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, while the 12-member Polish team was headed by Leszek Walczuk, chairman of the Committee for Cooperation with Middle East at the Polish Chamber of Commerce (PCC). Adam Kulach, Polish ambassador was also present at the discussions.
Speaking to Arab News after the meeting, Walczuk said the two parties were interested in enhancing their bilateral trade since they felt that the two-way trade of $200 million which is equally shared by the two countries, could be further increased with new areas of cooperation.
“Saudi businessmen have evinced interest in investing in profitable ventures in Poland,” the Polish businessman said, pointing out that Warsaw has introduced friendly tax laws that would benefit the foreign investors. “It will be a haven for Saudi investors since they could reap attractive profits compared to investment in other countries.”
