A Feature-Packed Photo Center

Epson has brought to the Middle East its Stylus Photo RX700. The product is one of the most advanced, feature packed all-in-one devices available on the market for serious photo enthusiasts. The Stylus Photo RX700 delivers superior photo printing quality and high performance scanning with a Photo Fine preview display, CD face printing and dual paper trays.

Clearer, sharper images are achieved through a minimum ink droplet size of only 1.5 pl (picoliter). Images can be previewed on Epson’s unique Photo Fine preview display and scanned on the 3200 dpi scanner, which also includes transparency and film scanning features. It will print directly onto printable CDs and DVDs and images can be archived to or printed from a compatible external CD-R or Zip drive. Users can print from their computer or use in stand-alone mode from memory cards and scanned film. An optional BlueTooth adaptor is also available.

The six individual ink cartridge system delivers 5760 dpi resolution while a new ink solution provides improved durability. Another addition is the PhotoEnhance, an automatic scene detection engine that will enhance areas of the photograph automatically without the need for manual retouching. For example if an image is detected as a portrait, PhotoEnhance will highlight the face and soften the contrast of the image.

DVD Recorder Offers Convenience

Panasonic’s new DIGA DVD recorder DMR-EH80V is all about choice. Equipped with a 200GB hard disk drive (HDD), this integrated VHS VCR/DVD recorder enables one-touch six-way dubbing among hard disk drive, DVD and VHS sources. An SD card slot adds a fourth source — the SD Memory Card — to make the DMR-EH80V a four-in-one multifunctional recorder. A quick response in starting up, recording and Electronic Program Guide appearance enhances operation and LP (long-play) mode features the same level of high-resolution recording as conventional SP (standard play) mode.

The one-touch six-way dubbing button on the DMR-EH80V makes it possible to dub between the hard disk drive and a DVD disc, a VHS tape and the hard disk drive, and a VHS tape and a DVD disc, by pressing only one button. For example, the user can store several S-VHS or VHS tapes onto the hard disk without all the work of connecting a separate VCR with cables and settings and then easily edit the stored data and save the result onto a DVD disc. In addition, the SD card slot of this handy four-in-one model lets the user view images taken with a digital still camera and save them onto the hard disk drive or a DVD disc.

The DMR-EH80V can record on DVD-RAM, DVD-R, +R and DVD-RW discs and play back DVD-RAM, DVD-R, +R, DVD-RW, +RW, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, SVCD, Video CD, Audio CD (CD-DA) and CD-R/RW (CD-DA, Video CD, SVCD, MP3/JPEG formatted) discs. The multiformat compatibility also means that users can play all of their DVDs on the DMR-EH80V, no matter what the format.
