Jordan Hikes Discount Rate

AMMAN, 5 February 2006 — The Central Bank of Jordan yesterday decided to raise the rediscount rate on the dinar by a 0.25 percentage point, to 6.75 percent from 6.50 percent, to cope with a similar hike in the US dollar rate, according to the CBJ Governor Umayyah Touqan.
