JEDDAH, 10 February 2006 — Nanma (goodness), an organization of Indian expatriates from Kerala, distributed prizes to winners of cultural contests it organized recently for schoolchildren. The prizes were given away at a ceremony held here to mark India’s Republic Day.
E.K. Mohamed Shafi, principal of the International Indian School, Jeddah, inaugurated the event and emphasized the significance of working for the welfare of other people, irrespective of their race, color and faith. President Somarajan presided over the function, George Vilson, art secretary, welcomed the guests and General Secretary Saleemuddin gave vote of thanks. A variety of cultural programs including group dances and songs presented by schoolchildren added color to the ceremony.
