Forged Spare Parts Confiscated

RIYADH, 19 February 2006 — Members of the anti-trade fraud squad raided an unlicensed warehouse of auto parts in Riyadh’s Faisaliya district and confiscated 260,880 pieces of forged parts, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday. The squad found expatriate workers at the warehouse putting stickers of well-known automobile manufacturers on substandard parts. They have also confiscated 18,000 such stickers used for forgery. The Commerce and Industry Ministry begun an investigation of the owner and workers, the agency said. The ministry has urged the public to inform it about trade fraud by contacting Tel: 800-124-1616.
