JEDDAH, 21 August 2006 — Saudi Arabia yesterday announced the names of players to enter training camp here from tomorrow in preparations for Asian Cup qualifying home matches against Japan and India next month.
Prince Sultan ibn Fahd, chief of the Youth Welfare Presidency, has approved the 24-man squad proposed by his deputy Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal after consultations with the national team coach Brazilian Marcos Paqueta, the Saudi Press Agency said.
The team members are: Mabrouk Zayed, Mustafa Malaeka, Muhammad Khoja, Reza Tukur, Abdul Aziz Al-Khathran, Ahmed Al-Dokhi, Muhammad Ameen, Osama Hausawi, Kamil Al-Mousa, Hassan Muad, Badr Al-Haqbani, Hamad Al-Saqour, Muhammad Misad, Hussein Abdul Ghani, Saud Kariri, Saleh Bashir, Naif Al-Qadi, Abdu Ateef, Abdullatif Al-Ghannam, Omar Al-Ghamdi, Yasser Al-Qahtani, Taiseer Al-Jassem, Eissa Al-Mehyani and Ala Al-Kuwaikabi.
He said the two qualifying matches would be held at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.
The match with Japan will take place on Sept. 3 and with India on Sept. 6. A friendly with the UAE team will be played on Aug. 27 at the same stadium before the Asian Cup matches, SPA said.
