NEW DELHI, 23 February 2006 — India will send a team of officials to Saudi Arabia for talks on boosting energy cooperation as agreed during Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s visit to India last month, a statement said yesterday.

Details of the economic delegation’s trip were outlined during talks here between visiting Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal and Indian leaders, the Indian Foreign Ministry statement said. India and Saudi Arabia agreed to bolster ties in the energy sector and fight terrorism during a four-day visit here last month by Abdullah. The Saudi minister expressed his “determination that Saudi Arabia would follow through expeditiously on various items of cooperation agreed upon by the two countries,” the Indian statement said.
