JEDDAH, 23 November 2006 — Due to the growing popularity of sea sport General Presidency of Youth Welfare President Prince Sultan ibn Fahd has approved establishing a committee for the Saudi Sea Sport Federation under the supervision of his deputy Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal.

Saudi Youth Football Team to Visit Argentina

JEDDAH, 23 November 2006 — In accordance with the memorandum of understanding betweenSaudi Arabia and Argentina in the field of sports, Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal has approved the visit by the Saudi youth football team to Argentina from Dec. 1 to 15.

Saudi Boxers in Tunisia

JEDDAH, 23 November 2006 — The Saudi boxing national team are in Tunisia for a training camp in preparation for the 15th Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar. Meantime, the national weightlifting team are to wind up a similar training in Egypt next Monday. Secretary-General of the Saudi Weightlifting Federation Sultan ibn Nassib and assistant coach Fathi Sadag, technical administrator Tahir Al-Sheibah and physician Nassir Al-Tarigi accompanied the lifters.

Al-Nokhba Tilt On

JEDDAH, 23 November 2006 — ­The Al-Nokhba Athletics Championship for clubs kicked off yesterday at Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz City in Al-Qateef. Seeing action are athletes from the United States and Gulf Cooperation Council countries including host Saudi Arabia. This championship will be serve as final eliminator for the athletes to represent the Saudi track and field team to the Doha Games next month.
