Kingdom to Play 2 Friendlies

RIYADH, 7 March 2006 — Two international soccer friendly matches against Iraq on March 15 and Poland on March 28 have been lined up for the Saudi national team, according to deputy president of the Saudi Youth Welfare, Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal. The Iraq match will take place in Riyadh and the Poland tie in Jeddah. The matches are part of the Saudi team’s preparations for the World Cup 2006.

Ansar, Costa Part Ways

MADINAH, 7 March 2006 — The Ansar club management has terminated the contract of Brazilian player Costa. Costa joined Ansar club two years ago. The management met with the player to settle the matter peacefully especially since the team would no longer benefit from his services having been relegated to the first division of the Saudi league.

Al-Baltan Encouragement

HAIL, 7 March 2006 — The president of Al-Shabab club and honorary member of Al-Hazem club, Khaled Al-Baltan, encouraged Hazem players to do their best and qualify for the first time in their history to the final four. An elated Al-Baltan donated SR100,000 after the team won their match against Taie 1-0.
