KARACHI, 14 March 2006 — Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim has ruled out any role for Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari in Pakistan’s politics. He said the current assemblies could elect President Pervez Musharraf for another term provided the general elections were held in 2008.
The Sindh chief minister denied any political change in Sindh was in the offing saying change might come at some other place.
Arbab said Benazir and Zardari had no political future because the people had rejected them. He said his government could arrest Baloch chieftains staying in Karachi if Balochistan government formally asked for it.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz’s performance has been excellent and he should be re-elected in 2007, the chief minister opined.
