NEW YORK, 20 March 2006 — Dwyane Wade scored 13 of his team-high 15 points from the foul line as the Miami Heat edged the Chicago Bulls 85-84 on Saturday, extending their win streak to four games.
Shaquille O’Neal and Antoine Walker each added 13 for the red-hot Heat, who have won 14 of their last 15 games. Luol Deng scored 19 points and 10 rebounds while Kirk Hinrich had 15 points in the loss for the Bulls.
Wade, who had averaged over 34 points for his last five games, came out stone cold against the Bulls, going just 1-for-8 from the floor, but could not miss from the foul line.
The Heat needed every single point in a seesaw contest that remained tight from the opening tip-off to the final buzzer.
In Charlotte, Richard Hamilton potted a game high 23 points and Chauncey Billups added 20 points and nine assists to lead the Detroit Pistons past the Bobcats 108-103.
After an upset loss to the lowly New York Knicks on Friday, the league-leading Pistons were once again far from sharp but double figure efforts from six players were enough to earn them a third win in four games.
In Houston, Tony Parker poured in 23 points and dished out eight assists and Tim Duncan chipped in with 14 points and eight rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs defused the Rockets 92-77 to collect their fourth straight win.
Yao Ming continued to lead the way for Houston bagging 20 points and 10 boards while Juwan Howard added 18 points and eight rebounds as the Rockets fell to their fourth consecutive defeat.
