Missing Girl Checks in With Jeddah Aunt

TAIF, 23 November 2006 — The 14-year-old girl who disappeared with an Asian maid from her Taif home five days ago called her aunt in Jeddah on Tuesday to assure her that she was safe and sound, Al-Madinah daily reported yesterday. She did not leave any contact address or give any clue about the place of her hiding. However, a police source said that her call suggested the possibility that she is still somewhere in Jeddah. The aunt immediately informed the girl’s father about his daughter’s telephone call. Taif police have also notified the police in other regions about the missing women with all their details. The girl’s father believes that she might have been kidnapped by some of his clients in connection with a dispute over some share dealings. The father also suspected that the maid who also disappeared could be a link in the girl’s abduction. He said the maid had earlier attempted to set fire to his house by leaving the oven on. Police also detained six youths who were suspected to have involved with the disappearance of the girl.
