RIYADH, 26 April 2006 — Minister of Labor Ghazi Al-Gosaibi will inaugurate a three-day training and development program in Riyadh on May 1 for the members of the public and private sectors in the Kingdom.
Announcing the details of the program at a press conference here on Monday, Abdullah Al-Shidadi, president of the Saudi Management Society (SMA), said the event was expected to draw more than 2,000 participants from both the private and public sectors.
He added that the program would be open for senior secondary students, both male and female, free of charge when they arrive with their student IDs.
Al-Shidadi pointed out that the Kingdom has allocated SR87 billion for human resources development for the next five years and SR42 billion in this year’s budget.
“The forum will also discuss how best these votes could be utilized for the betterment of the nation and ensure a balanced growth in all regions and sectors throughout the Kingdom,” said Al-Shidadi.
According to new labor law, employers have been asked to train six percent of their Saudi employees annually in their respective fields of work.
The public sector supporting agencies will also present many of their programs that are currently incorporated in the new budget and will tell the delegates as to how they are being implemented through education and training agencies.
