JEDDAH, 10 May 2006 — The Saudi-British squash tournament has been scheduled for June 24 to July 3 at the King Fahd Coastal City here. A group of British squash players are coming to compete in a reciprocal visit under the Saudi-British Sport Memorandum of Understanding. This was announced by the Saudi Squash Federation ahead of its regular meeting yesterday at the Prince Faisal Sport City in Riyadh.
Mike Harry will accompany the British group consisting of six players and two each from the Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 age brackets.
Ahmed Kamil, secretary at the Saudi federation, said that the event took place last year in England, and now it was “our turn to host them.”
BAE Systems administers the government-to-government sports program.
Meantime, Saudi Squash Federation Secretary-General Abdulaziz Al-Mansour said among the things to be taken up during the meeting is the review of the federation activities the past season and upcoming events as well.
