CAIRO, 25 May 2006 — Egyptian singer Shireen Wajdi is UK-bound. The artist made the decision to move to London after she and her husband, businessman Ehab Talat, faced legal problems in Egypt.
Shireen has decided that it was safest for her to remain in London and in this way she avoids further legal action, problems she said were the cause of the delay of her upcoming album. Six songs have been laid down, and she said she expects the album to be out by year’s end.
The Egyptian power couple was release from prison recently after Talat paid debt owed to the Egyptian Media Production Co., although a criminal court in Cairo has yet to order the release of the couple’s frozen assets.
Shireen flew to Germany for three days to visit her husband who was there to receive medical treatment, although rumors claimed that he fled the country. The couple stated they are eager to get over the crisis and move on with their lives.
