Ragheb Alama Searching for Arab Unity

BEIRUT, 29 May 2006 — Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama and his band have left for the United States and Canada on concert tours. Ragheb postponed his own departure until visas for himself and his crew had been granted.

Ragheb has held a series of performances around the Arab world, and has chosen most of his new songs written by composers in Egypt and the Gulf. He has chosen several romantic songs to send a message to his fans, He hopes for the unity of Arab nations, which is something missing from the region.

Recently, on request from the Iranian community, Alama held a concert in Dubai. The concert was a great success, drawing a diverse audience.
