JEDDAH, 15 June 2006 — The Volunteer Council of Jeddah, part of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held its first meeting Tuesday evening and elected twelve members, including three women, representing its executive committee. In a first time initiative by a chamber, the JCCI formed the Volunteer Council last month, which aims at studying and developing the chamber’s current services in order to build a positive relationship with its members. The council would also suggest new services and advise the board of directors on future projects and activities. Fifty-one chamber members attended the meeting with the presence of JCCI Chairman Abdullah Al-Mouallemi and some members of the board of directors. “The council coordinates with the general secretariat at the chamber in all aspects that would help it perform its duties,” said JCCI secretary general Mohammed Al-Shairf. Winners in the election for the council’s executive committee are: Amani Abdulwase, Dunia Bakr Yunis, Hanan Madani, Sami Idrees, Abbas Abduljawad, Hassan Saqr, Dr. Ehab Abu Rukba, Ibrahim Al-Rashid, Hassan Dahlan and Dr. Mohammed Bukhari.
