JEDDAH, 24 June 2006 — A months-long row over garbage landed a Makkah man on death row, the daily Al-Eqtisadiah reported yesterday. The dispute started when a resident of an apartment building had a habit of leaving his garbage in front of the building instead of taking it to a trash bin. After complaining to the neighbor didn’t work, the disgruntled man decided that each time he saw the garbage outside he would take it and place it in front of the neighbor’s door. Since this method didn’t work either, the man decided to take more confrontational action. He waited outside in the early morning until his neighbor came out with his garbage and confronted him. The confrontation resulted in the man stabbing his neighbor to death. He now faces his own death by the sword for committing homicide.
