RIYADH, 16 July 2006 — The Central Region chapter of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE-CRCSA) is inviting members and guests for its 8th mid-year convention on Friday, starting 7 a.m. at the Al Minhal Holiday Inn.
As part of the event, a technical presentation on MV power transformer protections and its relay setting application will be conducted by Eutiquio M. Guantero Jr., the chapter’s founding president.
“Engineer Guantero, with his 30 years of work experience, will be sharing to the ‘young electrical engineers’ his technical expertise on the subject,” said Francisco C. Sigaya Jr., chapter president for the current administrative year.
“The power transformer is one of the most important links in a power transmission and distribution system. The technical presentation aims to provide better understanding on power transformers during energizing, commissioning as well as operation and maintenance and the art of protection relaying and system fault analysis,” Sigaya added.
The activity will be sponsored by MESC Specialized Cables, which will also provide a product presentation covering general information and guidelines on the proper usage of special cables on specific system installations such as fire alarm, security, nurse call, intercom/paging, telecom and related system usage.
