RIYADH, 19 July 2006 — The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has approved the distribution of SR300 million profits for the second quarter of 2006, which is SR1.5 per share. STC achieved a net profit of SR6.8 billion for the first half of 2006 compared with SR5.9 billion from the same period last year, which is an increase of 15.2 percent.
Mobily Records SR154m Profit

RIYADH, 19 July 2006 — The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) announced SR728 million profit for the second quarter of 2006 compared with SR580 million for the same period last year. The first quarter net profit reached SR292 million for 2006 compared with SR315 million for the same period last year.
SAPTCO’s Profit Soars 536 Percent
JEDDAH, 19 July 2006 — Abdullah Al-Mugbil, chairman of Saudi Public Transport Co. (SAPTCO), announced that the company has made SR286.9 million in profit for the first half of 2006, an increase of 536 percent, compared with SR45.1 million for the same period last year.
Jarir Posts 65.4% Rise in Profit
RIYADH, 19 July 2006 — Muhammad Al-Akeel, chairman of Jarir Marketing Co., announced that his company had made SR119.98 million in profit for the first half of 2006 compared with SR72.9 million for the same period last year, an increase by 65.4 percent. He said that percentage of sales for the first six months increased by 33 percent from SR534.7 million in the same period last year to SR710.5 million this year.
SCC Sales Rise to SR469 Million
RIYADH, 19 July 2006 — The Saudi Chemical Company (SCC) announced that the company made sales of SR469 million for the first half of 2006 compared with SR456 million for the same period last year. Net profit increased by 16 percent and reached SR57 million for the first half of 2006 compared with SR49 million for the same period last year.
NSCSA’s Profit Increases 15.8%
JEDDAH, 19 July 2006 — The National Shipping Co. of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA) announced that he company achieved SR267.64 million in net profit for the first half of year 2006 compared with SR231.12 million from the same period last year. This was an increase by 15.8 percent. The profit per share increased to SR1.19 compared with SR1.03 profit per share for the same period last year.
Amiantit Registers SR15.6 Million
JEDDAH, 19 July 2006 — The Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. announced a net profit of SR15.6 million for the first half of 2006 compared with losses of SR16.6 million for the same period last year. Net sales increased to SR1.4 billion this year, an increase by 24 percent.
