KHAMIS MUSHAYT, 21 July 2006 — Police here arrested a man who was gleefully reciting love poems and distributing wedding invitations to random passersby on a street corner, the Okaz daily reported. Police officers, suspicious of his behavior, arrested the man and searched his car, where they found bottles of alcohol and various drugs. Upon looking at his license and registration, they learned that the invites were to his own wedding. A few hours later the man awoke in a police cell with a terrible hangover and began pleading with police officers not to tell his fiancée and dad about the arrest. The man remains in police custody while investigations are carried out. The man is set to marry in two weeks time.
