ALKHOBAR, 24 July 2006 — “Hindi pa huli ang lahat upang mag-aral nang kaalamang pang teknolohiya (It’s never too late to learn something about technology).”

With these slogan, the Association of Computer Enthusiasts of Saudi Arabia (Aces), a group based in Alkhobar, is inviting Filipinos in the city and nearby places to attend a series of seminar-workshops on business application software next month.

Registration for the four-Friday training, which starts on Aug. 4, is now going on, said Alexis G. Paulino, a professional computer trainer, who will lead the group’s team of instructors.

Interested parties may call cell phone No. 05622-75170 or e-mail [email protected] for more information.

Aces officials said the forthcoming seminar and other projects of the group will be open to all, be they professionals, skilled or unskilled workers. “Our aim is to provide training as a way of helping our compatriots keep abreast of developments in the different fields of technology so that we would continue to be competitive in the world labor market,” Aces said.

On July 7, Aces also conducted a seminar on photography, with Jose “Jojo” De Luna, a professional creative photographer, as the lecturer. In his discourse, De Luna showed the intricacies of color combinations, angles, techniques on making a “shoot” livelier, among other topics. Some of those who attended the seminar were into photography only as a hobby and others said they want to become professional photographers or go into business.

Labor Attaché Delmer Cruz, the guest speaker, cited the seminar organizers for conducting a worthwhile project and urged the participants to keep taking advantage of similar training opportunities and to put what they learn into beneficial use.
