LBC Launches Special Ramadan Program for Viewers in KSA

JEDDAH, 13 September 2006 — The popular TV program ‘Tash Ma Tash, a comedy that focuses on social issues, is one of the nine major items in the Ramadan bouquet of the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC) satellite channel. “The bouquet is tailor-made for the Kingdom’s viewers,” LBC Chairman and CEO Pierre El Daher said at the launch of LBC’s special Ramadan programs at the Jeddah Hilton yesterday.

Banking on its past success, well-known director Amer Hamoud, the original creator of Tash Ma Tash, comes back with fresh perspectives on this situational comedy. He joins forces with LBC opening a huge window of opportunity today for recruiting young Saudi talents and tackling new yet relevant subjects, shot in various and new locations.

‘Eisho Ma’na’ is a talk show dealing with interesting topics related to the Kingdom. Everything from news, stocks, poetry and home decoration to interviews with young artists. “We promise you an exciting topic every day,” he said.

‘Rah Li Rah’ is a Gulf series produced by Saudi writer Amal Al-Outaibi and Fajr Al-Saeed. It is a series that reflects one of the realities of the Arab society. The plot revolves around the main character, Saad, and his rich family. Saad has a dictator-like, stubborn personality, a one-man show who does not consider others’ opinions.

Director Najdat Anzour brings the “Al Marikoun,” a series that tackles the subject of terrorism through recent events that started in Europe and Morocco and reached the Arab world. It reflects on the strong effect that terrorism has on the political and economic situation in the region.

“Deal or No Deal” is one of the gutsiest and daring game shows that plays on emotions. It is based on suspense, speed, intuition and determination delivered in the most dramatic manner.

“The show offers one of the biggest cash prizes on TV,” Roger K. Darouni, LBC’s executive marketing director, said.

‘Mosaferoon’ is a religious program presented by Dr. Mohammad Al Ariefi targeting young men and women. The show covers different topics from his experiences and is presented in an appealing narrative style. Each episode deals with an interesting topic related to daily life.

‘Zaman Al Imbaratora’ is a daring social drama presented by writer Fajr Al-Saeed. It deals with the constant drive for seeking money, delivered in an original and transparent framework.

‘Al-Mahrous’ is a series featuring the life of Al-Mahrous who lives in a fortified castle. He rules his people through his three daughters who are the only ones to live with him in the castle.
