JEDDAH, 22 September 2006 — As Ramadan approaches hotels, restaurants and cafes have started announcing their special menu for iftar and sahoor. Travel agents and companies are supporting the events in hotels offering iftar guests with prizes that include airline tickets, cars, perfumes and luxury goods.
Like in the previous years, the Layali Ramadan tent at the Crowne Plaza Jeddah boasts one of the largest arrangements for the holy month.
“The hotel has made elaborate arrangements for iftar buffet at the tent and also at its Al Zahra and Al Yasmin restaurants,” Crowne Plaza Jeddah’s General Manager Rafique I. Izhiman told a press conference on Wednesday night.
“The hotel management has paid special attention for the sahoor meals that will be arranged around the ‘Sindbad’ swimming pool and at Zahra restaurant,” said Mohammed Al Amoudi, the hotel’s PR director.
The tent has been set up on a 1,080 square-meter space and can accommodate more than 500 persons at a time.
Inquiries at various starred hotels in Jeddah including Sheraton, Albilad, Westin, Hilton, InterContinental and Sofitel showed that they are all fully geared to celebrate the month with attractive decors and menu.
Resorts are also preparing for the occasion. Movenpick Resort Al-Nawras on the Corniche has announced a Ramadan menu offered by its Lebanese chefs and also recreation for children at its Al-Wadaa restaurant and open-air Amwaj Terrace.
