DUBAI, 29 September 2006 — Dubai Modern High School celebrated its 20th anniversary in a glittering ceremony that saw the inauguration of the Modern High Alumni Association.
Wearing a festive look, with special lights, flowers and spectacular decor, the school played host to a number of luminaries from its past.
The first principal of the school, Balraj accompanied by his wife, flew in from India as special guests. Around 150 alumni and former teachers participated in the special event.
The first head boy of Modern High School, Walid Toufiq and the principal, Darryl Bloud, signed the Alumni Association Charter. The entire audience witnessed the charter, which was signed while being projected on an electronic screen.
“Dubai Modern High School has a prestigious and proud heritage of producing some of the finest students in the past two decades,” said Darryl Bloud.
“The inauguration of the Alumni Association will help bring those students together, and what better way to do that than on the 20th anniversary of the school that nurtured and cultivated these students’ creativity.”
Over a hundred students took part in three songs from the musical ‘Cats’, directed by Kevin Oliver.
