RIYADH, 1 November 2006 — In a SR 2.5 billion rent-a-car market distributed among 100 firms, a major Saudi company has unveiled plans to capture a niche market for businessmen, investors and VIP visitors to the Kingdom.
Arabian Hala Co. Ltd, the sole agent of AVIS Rent A Car in Saudi Arabia, has said that it plans to open a number of VIP branches in various regions of the Kingdom for its customers. “These branches will provide fully insured cars with an experienced bilingual driver in Avis uniform,” Assad A. Atyani, director of Arabian Hala’s car division, explained. He said that the new branches would be equipped to handle special services required by businessmen, investors and VIP visitors.
The opening of the branches will help to fulfill clients’ requirements “as we plan to open a VIP branch in the Eastern Province, one branch in Jeddah and another in Riyadh very soon,” Atyani said.
AVIS Saudi Arabia says that it accounts for about 5.5 percent of the Kingdom’s total car rental market which includes more than 100,000 vehicles.
