JEDDAH, 12 October 2006 — The Pakistan Welfare Society (PWS) has set up its women wing to provide welfare services to Pakistani women in the Kingdom.
Convener of the society Dr. Khalilur Rehman announced the formation of the women wing at an iftar-cum-dinner on Tuesday. Riffat Arshad will head the wing while other members are Zafar Jahan, Gulzar Afzal, Khalil Janjoah and Farhat Jilani. The objectives of the newly setup body will be to train girls and women in different skills including sewing and knitting. It will also organize Qur’an and other classes for needy students and hold social events, including meena bazars, to raise funds for poor families.
