JEDDAH, 18 October 2006 — United Matbouli Group (UMG), Samsung’s Kingdomwide agent, is embarking on a project to establish a technology training center for young Saudis in Jeddah. “This is part of our contribution to train young Saudis and prepare them to meet the challenges of Saudization,” a senior UMG executive said yesterday.
“We’re pursuing the plan and concentrating on various modalities that will help us to establish a full-fledged center for technology training,” Mohammed Asad, UMG’s senior product manager, told Arab News.
Training very much remains the company’s focus this year and in 2007. “We’re also planning to become a company for in-house training with a view to developing and enhancing the quality of work and efficiency of our employees. The whole exercise is aimed to focus on our technology and digital products, especially our plasma and LCD television sets. We aim to be the first to introduce our new technology to our Saudi consumers as and when we develop,” he said on the sidelines of an iftar presentation on Samsung Electronics operations at Sheraton Jeddah.
Samsung’s new, advanced “Bordeaux” & “Sonoma” series of LCD Panel TV’s introduced by UMG recently have evoked a “good response,” he said. Available in 26-, 32-and 40-inch screen sizes, the “Bordeaux” range stands out as much for its picture performance and high fidelity sound as its superior design. “Product innovation, technology leadership and design represent the pillars of our brand strategy, and the ‘Bordeaux’ LCD range is another fitting example of this approach,” Asad said.
