Injury Time Goal Saves Day for Ahli

JEDDAH, 10 November 2006 — Week 7 of the Saudi soccer league continued yesterday with four matches taking place. In Hail, Al-Hilal encountered some difficulty in beating Taie 3-2. Two goals from Badr Al-Kharashi in the first half and another marker from Abdul Aziz Al-Khathran in minutes 46 gave Hilal victory. Taie scored through Fahd Al-Ghmadi and Slah Ukal in minutes 34 and 44 respectively.

In Dammam, Al-Khaleej secured their first three points after six consecutive loses with a 1-0 triumph from Al-Faisali. Al-Ittifaq found the net at a crictical time against Al-Hazem in Al-Rass to win by 1-0 and Al-Ahli escaped with a vital goal in injury time by Yasser Al-Sulami to prevail against Al-Qadisiya at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here.

Hilal went on top with 18 points and Shabab dropped temporarily to second place with a match in hand against Al-Nasr today. Ahli jumped to fifth position with 11 points and Khaleej remained last with three points. Al-Ittihad are likely to face a difficult match against Wehda in Makkah in another match today.
