Actuate Performancesoft Views in Arabic
Performancesoft, a division of Actuate Corp. and a provider of Performance Management Solutions, has made the company’s flagship application, Actuate Performancesoft Views, available with full Arabic language support. The localization of the software to Arabic involved adjustments to allow for right-to-left text and menu alignment, as well as Arabic fonts. The Arabic version contains completely translated software menus, as well as all User and System Documentation in Arabic.
The company stated that creating an Arabic language version of the software was to show its commitment to the Middle East market. Performancesoft believes that as the product has already been adopted by many Middle East organizations, an Arabic verison will enable better support for those corporation’s performance management initiatives.

A Curtain of Mist and Mystery
The FogScreen was a huge hit at GITEX even though the product was tucked away on a booth at the back of Zabeel Hall. The FogScreen is a translucent screen that makes objects seem to appear and move in thin air. The FogScreen is created by using a suspended fog generating device. There is no frame around the screen and installation is easy.
The fog created for the screen is dry, so the floor under the device or people passing through the screen don’t get wet. The fog is made of ordinary water and ultrasonic waves, with no chemicals whatsoever. The FogScreen works with standard video projectors. With two projectors, different images can be projected on both sides of the screen. The images seen on the FogScreen are clear in daylight but are impressive in a darker room or at night. Headset for Both Calls and Tunes
Jabra has created a new category of Bluetooth headsets with the launch of its Jabra BT8010. The product is designed for users that demand a high-performance headset for use with their Bluetooth phone, but also want the ability to convert it to a full-function stereo unit to listen to music.
The BT8010 offers phone functionality — such as a phonebook, caller ID and up to 10 hours talk time — but with the attachment of a second headset, it becomes a high-performance stereo unit enabling the user to switch seamlessly between talking on the phone and listening to music. The headset is easy to manage with features such as autopairing for connection to Bluetooth-enabled handsets and a jogwheel for navigation of the BT8010’s menus and volume adjustment.
