JEDDAH, 29 November 2006 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah yesterday received Saudi ambassadors at his palace in Riyadh and urged them to provide all assistance to Saudis visiting foreign countries.
“You should also provide them with necessary guidance, and advise them to follow the rules of the country they are visiting,” the Saudi Press Agency quoted the king as saying.
King Abdullah also urged the ambassadors, who were in Riyadh for a regular meeting, to represent their Islamic state in the right manner.
“You will find people who make mistakes or don’t know the rules. Be helpful to them and appoint good lawyers for them,” he said. “Serving the Two Holy Mosques is the duty of all Saudis, not Abdullah alone.”
Speaking at a similar reception, Crown Prince Sultan said Saudi ambassadors are the propagators of Islam and pan-Arabism outside the Kingdom.
“We are ready to accept constructive criticism. At the same time, we don’t listen to meaningless talks and fables,” he said. “Ours is an Islamic country with great responsibilities, upholding its divine and humanitarian missions.”
